Dan Andrus, 4 stripe purple belt

Dan-O has been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2007 attaining the level of Purple Belt under Professor Jorge Gurgel. He has established a reputation as one of the most popular Instructors in West Michigan and is an experienced NAGA and ADCC referee. Dan's grappling style is calm, technical and methodical and he passes these attributes on to his students. Dan was first drawn to BJJ because the challenge; both mentally and physically and most appreciates developing relationships with those who have the same motivation and desire to better themselves. Family and relationships are very important to Dan and we are privileged to have him part of the 3rd Law family.

Kurt Nuffer, 1 stripe purple belt

Kurt has been training BJJ since the beginning of 2008 and is currently a purple belt under Professor Jorge Gurgel. A technical and patient grappler, Kurt keeps the safety of the students as his top prioirty. In the last five year Kurt has trained with a variety of high-level instructors including Saulo Ribeiro, Robson Moura, Carlson Gracie Jr, Roberto Tozi and of course Jorge Gurge. Positive and outgoing, Kurt loves to mentor the newer students. Here, at 3rd law, we are thrilled have Kurt be with us to pass on his knowledge of this wonderful art.

Brandon Klein, purple belt

Brandon has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2008. He has trained with several word-class grapplers including Jorge Gurgel, Hermes Franca, Roberto Tozi, Robson Moura, Saulo Ribeiro and Carlson Gracie Jr. and earned the rank of Purple Belt under Professor Jorge Gurgel. Brandon is a very technical grappler who pays close attention to detail and proper technique.

Tim Bernhardt, purple belt

Tim is miliatry veteran and a Deputy Sheriff and has been training BJJ for 4 years. He earned his purple belt from Professor Jorge Gurgel and has a talent for teaching the fundamentals of the art. He also enjoys helping people with strength and conditioning as well as nutritional programs. You will see Tim on the mats teaching, mentoring new students and playing an intregal role in Kids BJJ at 3rd Law.

John Meyerholtz, 2 stripe blue belt

John is a former Marine and Master Electrician who owns his own business, Rogue River Electric. He has been training in Jiu Jitsu for 3 years. John has a talent for connecting with our youth and teaches both the Little Grapplers and Kids Jiu Jitsu classes.
